I've lived here for 7 years at Metropolitan Place, and I'm signing my lease for another year this month. There's been some noticeable changes with the management, overall maintenance of the building, and how things are done as far as rent payments go lately. I would say most of it is for the better. Great location.. I travel often for work and I love that it's easy access to buses and the airport. If you're looking for a place that's close to Seattle, the mall, food, etc then this is it. The area can get kind of dicey at times, but the building inside is clean and well-kept. Half of the parking garage is public transit, and the other half is secured resident parking so it's separated from the public. Any issues I've had with my apartment are addressed in a timely manner, with respect and courtesy to my schedule. I feel like they sincerely care about me here, and treat me like family. When it all boils down to it, that's why I've decided to stay for this long. Overall this is a great place to live.

My wife and I have lived here for a couple of years and have enjoyed our time here. It’s right in the heart of downtown and we have access to multiple bars, restaurants, and mom/pop stores. The management went through some changes a couple of years ago, and the current management team is fantastic.

Elevator is constantly broken because it’s essentially open to the public. Whenever you do get to use it, it smells extremely strong of urine. Also smells like someone pees right outside of the elevator very regularly. Only the elevator for the B building is like this because they have it open to the transit center, would be amazing if they’d better secure this elevator as homeless people sleep and pee in it when it’s broken.... If you’d prefer to take the stairs, there is often used syringes that don’t get picked up for months. It doesn’t feel safe and it doesn’t seem like the management really cares about any of these issues. It’s been reported to them by numerous other tenants. These aren’t problems you should have when you’re being charged their outrageous rent prices (plus you have to pay to park in the urine SOAKED garage) Do not rent here.

We were looking for an apartment that was centrally located to public transportation and this building is right in front of the bus stop. I can't rate this place from the inside because we were about to sign a contract but decided against it for safety reasons. The elevators have a strong urine smell that we were told was probably a pet owner that didn't clean after his/her dog but it didn't smell like that. We started reading the reviews that say that outsiders get in the building with ease, they sleep in the hallways and pee in the elevators. I get home at 3 am from work sometimes and can't feel safe finding someone inside my building sleeping on hallways so the girl in the office said to me if you find someone you need to call the police, that's exactly what I want to do when I get home from work at 3 am! We asked for our deposit back and were denied even though their office made us wait for over 20 days to let us know if we were approved at which point we weren't able to secure our current apartment for a longer period of time before the apartment at Metropolitan was available. The two girls at the office are lovely ladies that do a good job however the Manager who spoke to us was condescending. I am a senior citizen and that deposit is certainly more important to me than it should be to them who didn't do things in the proper amount of time. I gave them all our information the same day I saw the apartment. I told the Manager I would write a comment about it and she didn't seem to care, but it's important for people to be aware of this policy so they make the right decision before they sign on the dotted line. It's amazing how large companies will tell you anything for money. Update May 2018. I was asked to contact Wasatch Customer Care so they could assist me only to be told that they wouldn’t change their decision. I wonder why they wasted my time?

Is this apartment complex income based? I was told on the phone by a rep for Metropolitan Place that you can't live there if your income is over $58,000.
