Jett did a wonderful, thoughtful job of assessing my situation, (damage from a lightning strike), and was able to help me come up with a cost-effective, time efficient solution! I am so grateful and I will remember his goodness the next time I am in need of their services.

I had some concerns with poorly installed siding near the base of my house. Jett from Horner came out and assessed the issue. He was super upfront and honest and and suggested a cost-effective fix that I could do myself. This says a lot about this company and how they care for their customers. Should I have a need in the future, I know who to call for their honesty and professionalism.

Paying for a new roof is never fun but Horner Roofing did a fantastic job. They exceeded all our expectations. The job started a couple weeks ahead of schedule which was great. Their crew worked two long days and it was incredible they could finish such a big project in such a short amount of time. The workers were courteous and did a fantastic job cleaning up each day. The new roof looks terrific! Jett the sales rep was awesome to work with and helped us pick out a really nice looking roof then inspected the work with a drone which provided us some nice photos. If I could rate Horner higher that’s 5-Star I would. Definitely the right choice for a your new roof. Jim

Well, that depends. If your roof is leaking or has severe storm damage, it might be best to replace it right away regardless of age or season; your roofing specialist can tell you the best options for your individual roof. An asphalt roof can last about 15-25 years if no major damage occurs, but it’s best to have it professionally inspected around year 15. Horner Roofing offers free inspections as a public service, so you’re free to call anytime with no obligation. Without damage, it’s best to plan on a replacement around 20 or 25 years. If you do need to schedule a full roof replacement, it’s better to plan for when the weather is warm. Warm weather ensures a proper seal and provides the best setting for the shingles to adhere to your roof. Ideally, in the winter seasons, a repair (rather than a replacement) would be best until the weather improves.
When you’re using your insurance coverage to pay for repairs, your deductible is the small portion that you’re responsible for. Therefore it goes to whoever is completing the repairs. For example, let’s say you have a $1,000 deductible, and your project costs $14,000. Your insurance company would send a check for $13,000 and you would be responsible for paying the last $1,000. You can think of it as similar to your health insurance; you spend the full amount of your deductible out of pocket, and insurance kicks in the rest of the money to cover the bill. The difference is that with Horner Roofing, we advocate on your behalf with the insurance company to get the full amount of coverage you deserve.
Probably not. We will never charge ‘hidden’ fees, but if something necessary comes up in the middle of your project (additional repairs needed, an extra roof layer to tear off, etc) you may be responsible for covering the extra cost. This is listed upfront in your agreement to review before we begin. Other than that, you will not need to pay more than your deductible unless you specifically request and agree to additional work not covered by your insurance.
They could! Anything that compromises the dependability and integrity of the roof could qualify for a full replacement rather than a repair. The same goes for your siding. Of course, it’s not easy dealing with insurance! So why not just give us a call for a free inspection? We’ll take a look at the damage and check in with your insurance to help you get the coverage you deserve.
Metal roofs may cost more in the beginning, but they can save you a good amount of money in the long run. Some insurance companies will offer a 30% discount for homeowners with a metal roof; check with your insurance provider to see what you could save! Metal roofs are energy efficient, leading to reduced cooling costs. This aspect is enhanced with solar barrier insulation, which reflects up to 95% of radiant energy. In the summer, you can see your cooling costs reduced by as much as 30%. Metal roofs are low maintenance, and last around 70+ years. They're very durable and built to resist anything from rain to hail, so you spend much less on repairs and replacements. If you already have a shingled roof, don't worry! It's generally possible to install metal right on top of it, eliminating the extra cost and hassle of a tear-off. That's because although metal is very sturdy and durable, it is also extremely lightweight.
Metal roofing is durable, lightweight, and reflects daytime heating. This material is a wonderful choice for both commercial and residential buildings. Metal roofing also delivers a striking look to several styles of buildings. Metal roofing is preferred for cases in which fire protection is critical. It's noncombustible and it can dissipate electrical charges. Metal roofing is very low maintenance, and has a long lifespan (at least 2-3 times longer than asphalt or wood shingles!)
Technically yes, but we don't recommend it. It can shorten the lifespan of your gutters, and potentially void some warranties that came with it. On top of that, the paint is very likely to chip away over time. If you're concerned about your new gutters matching your home's aesthetic, we highly recommend discussing it with your Horner's contractor first!
Most gutters are open gutter style, meaning they'll collect all sorts of random debris over time. Leaves, acorns, and pine needles, these things can clog your gutter and also are a fire hazard in dry weather. But don't worry! If you really dislike cleaning the gutters, gutter screens and gutter guards are one option to prevent the accumulation of debris in the first place. With less maintenance and a longer lifespan, they are a worthwhile investment to look into if you're planning to replace your gutters.
For most homeowners, a residential gutter system is the best option. You may also choose to add gutter guards or screens to improve the lifespan of your new gutters. For classical restorations, or for your forever home, copper may be a better option. Copper gutters add a bit of elegance to the home, functioning as decor while still fulfilling their practical purpose. Furthermore, they last more than twice as long as the standard gutter system. If you're looking to replace gutters on a commercial building, rather than a home, talk to your Horner's contractor about commercial gutter systems to handle the larger drainage needs that often come with these buildings.
Standard gutters will last around 20 years; if you're replacing your roof due to age, it's probably a good time to look at replacing the gutters with it. Copper gutters, on the other hand, last around 50 years or longer. It's less likely that you'll need to replace these unless they've been damaged.
Your gutters collect the rain that falls on your roof and guides it safely away from your roof, siding, and foundation. They are a small but essential component of a safe and healthy home. Damaged gutters can cause: • Foundation cracking • Basement flooding • Dry rot on the home's exterior • Mold damage • Siding damage • And more
