The scheduled maintenance on our 2 older systems revealed that they were at the end of their life expectancy. Our technician, Jordan recommended replacement. He put us in touch with Jeff Schmitt who went over various choices and the cost of each choice. Based upon Jeff's explanation, we opted for the full replacement of both systems. The job was scheduled for the following week. Eric Rau arrived with his team at the scheduled time. All three of them were courteous, friendly, and professional. They completed the job in about 6 hours, did a full and complete clean up, and patiently explained all of the new systems and how things work. The new thermostats are Google Nests, and they carefully explained the set up of these. We were very pleased with the entire job, from start to finish.

You can do it 2 ways. You can do a one time tuneup for $79 first system and $59 for the second one or the best way is to join our membership club and get both furnaces serviced and the a/cvs serviced in the spring with a15% discount on any repairs all for only $247.

Why is my AC freezing up?

There are several issues that could cause this. The most common are improper refrigerant (freon) charge in the system or not enough airflow. The first thing you should do is check to see if your filter is dirty. A dirty filter will restrict airflow and can lead to freezing. If that isn't the issue, give us a call and we'd be happy to help. See this video for more information on why air conditioners freeze: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHgyMHYGb2c

How can I reduce the allergens and mold in my home?

Comfort Control Heating & Air | Nov 3, 2018

For mold, a UV-C light is your best bet. The "evaporator coil" is a part of your air conditioner that creates condensation. It is constantly cold and damp, so it is a prime area for mold to grow. A UV-C light shining on the coil will kill mold and bacteria and prevent more from growing. For other allergens, like dust, a physical filter is best. We offer both 5-inch media filters as well as HEPA solutions to reduce airborne particles. Duct sealing can also help because it ensures air from your attic or mechanical room is not entering the system without passing through the filter. How often should I replace my air filter?

That depends! A standard 1" filter needs to be changed at least every 3 months. If you have pets, you may need to do it every 2 months. We recommend 5" media filters for most homes. They last 6-12 months and catch much more contaminants than standard 1" filters without overly restricting airflow.

How often should I have my HVAC system serviced?

Your home HVAC system should be serviced twice a year. Ideally in the fall before winter and in the spring before summer. Getting your HVAC system serviced semi-annually helps your system run smoother, run more efficiently and break down less often.
