Very rude people that answer the phones! I just politely asked to make a wic appointment, and the lady that answered the phone literally smarted off to me and told me that I needed to be patient that she wasn’t the one in charge of making appointments. I wasn’t even being impatient! I just asked a simple question. The lady I was directed to that made the actual appointment was even more rude! She told me I shouldn’t be calling this early to make an appointment and my wic expires in 3 days!! If you don’t like your job, then stop working there. It’s very discriminatory the way I was treated. This is not the first time I’ve been treated this way. Where is your professionalism and care towards people?

I am the mom to an 8 year old Type 1 diabetic child. He requires daily insulin to stay alive. Under the 1C phase, caregivers of medically fragile children under 16 are to be vaccinated. It specifically lists diabetes as one of the qualifying conditions.I told her he was 8 and t1d and she stated that the current phase was only for parents of medically fragile children OVER 16. I told her that was incorrect. Straight from the TN dept of healths website. She asked another nurse and said that the nurse said the same thing as her. They illegally denied me a vaccine I was entitled to. Stay away.

Thank you McMinn County Health Department! I had my COVID first dose vaccine today, the process was smooth. I was thru the line including wait time for reaction in under and hour all the while your staff stood in the cold with smiling faces directing the process. So grateful for all of you!!!
