So beyond glad we were able to stop in. The staff were so awesome with our kids and the crafts were amazing. Great conversations starters with our kids.

This is a museum on the campus of UT at Knoxville. It’s not large, but it is packed with interesting facts about Tennessee. Two floors with good exhibits.

Stop at the info center as you enter & they will give you a free 2 hour parking pass.
In the bus parking lot round the corner
You would have to contact the museum directly.
Free. Pull up to that parking booth to get a pass to park in front of the museum which is also free.
A lot of cute things. Scarves, jewelry, books, cards, figurines, etc.
Maybe this can help: "The metate, also called the mealing stone, was a large rock used to grind maize. Most metates consist of large, flat stones with a bowl or depression worn into the surface by the repeated grinding of the mano, a hand-held stone, against the surface of the metate. The molcajete performed a similar function, acting as a sort of mortar and pestle to grind ingredients."
