Excellent service, they were very organized. I was very happy to learn they were open because I've been hearing they were closed. I needed to update my name after marriage.

I spoke with Josie on the phone a couple of times - she helped me with some questions regarding my deceased mom's benefits and the tax reporting process. Really helpful, followed up quickly and ensured I had everything I needed.

I went on Thursday at 3 pm to apply for an SSN, and was attended almost immediately (no appointment necessary), in less than half an hour I was all set. Everyone was very friendly and provided me with assistance at all times, from the lobby officers to the SSA office. To speed up the process, it is important to start the application online, have all the necessary documentation printed out and follow the instructions of the officers.

I've only interacted with them on the phone. Considering my experiences calling other SSA offices and the national office, they were absolutely amazing. Claire went out of her way to help resolve my issue and within a week it was fully taken care of. Thank you so much!

POST OFFICE
Yes, you can. If you get there early there's not many people.
I would call the 800 number and find out what is going on
Yes
Not in person, you have to mail in your form SS-5 along with all supporting documentation. They were very helpful over the phone in helping me get my documents right but they can't do face to face appointments for name changes right now during Covid.
No.
Yes. You will need to present current and valid photo Id (drivers license). As long as you are not making any changes (DOB, NAME, ETC.) Card will be mailed (7-10 days).
Not the actual card but they can print out a letter dusting you have a number and what it is
If you mean between 12p and 1p yes. 12a and 1a no.
Yes
The cards are free. Just takes a while to go through the process and to receive them in the mail.
Just walk in. No appointment needed.
It's only open by appointment. We went the other day and found this out.
You could but you can check closer to home to see if there's an office
You have to just keep calling to try to get through . I think earlier the better cause if it's close to closing hours and you are on hold with them they disconnect the call at closing. (Even after being a hold for a hour! 🤬)
You can call them and book an appointment for it.
Slow, 45 minutes
No you need to call
Counting all the times I called, including when I got hung up on while on hold (twice), I was on hold for a total of 2 hrs 56 minutes. Only to eventually get thru to get given the wrong information (told I needed to go down to the building in person, which is only partly correct). What I ultimately did was go downtown to the actual building, get the direct office number from a kindly officer (which is different than the one I found for the office online) and called THAT number right when they opened. There, I waited on hold about 35 minutes, and finally got the correct info and turns out I didn't need to do any of the things the prior person I talked to told me I needed to do but actually just confirm some other info and then I could just have the forms mailed to me. After all that, still haven't received the forms but at least I have their actual number now. Look, set a day aside, and pour yourself a drink, cause this'll take a while and you'll definitely need one by the end of it.
No, walk ins are not allowed for now. You have to schedule an appointment first by calling the SSA office.
Yes
Only by appointments only
No. They wont give you an appt for something like that. You gotta call and mail in the paperwork
No
I don't think you can change your social security number, but I'm not sure. I would contact social security and let them know your number was stolen, and ask what you should do next.
You need to get an appointment on phone. They call you back for confirmation in a week's time.
Please call the office if you have any dire needs for an in-persian service . They may be able schedule an appointment even now.
Appointment is not required, reach there around 3.30 pm and you should be able to get the work done quickly
It opens at 9am
Yep. They are only open till 12pm on Wednesday.
I would assume gross.
It's still at the same address on the 9th floor

Hi unfortunately I'm not the person to ask, I don't work for social security Dept.
You CAN go there to order a replacement. As Dwight said, be sure to bring valid Photo ID or sufficient documentation to prove your identity. Check their website for a list of these approved documents. OOOORRR if you're going to their website anyway... ***DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN ORDER A REPLACEMENT ONLINE??? It isn't so hard to do and in approximately 1 to 2 weeks, you should have your replacement. I just did it myself. Fast and painless!!
