Lodge style rooms, all doors are outside. It is obvious that it's very old but was semi updated to include amenities that weren't originally built in making some things a little awkward (refrigerator in the bathroom, etc). Definitely not ADA friendly as pathways are rough but it's kid friendly and like going to camp. All in all my kids had a great time and felt like they were really a part of the Grand Canyon. The Lodge itself doesn't have a lot of amenities and eating here was difficult. They only serve a few hot dishes cafeteria style. They were out of everything we tried to order one evening. Staff wasn't very friendly or helpful and we felt like we were a nuisance by being there. Overall we had a decent experience because of the location. We didn't have terribly high expectations so we were pleasantly surprised that it was clean and had all the essentials.

The cabin like feel of the lodge was great and having a back patio to lounge out was awesome. Be sure to buy your food for your room ahead of time not all rooms are near the main check in point. The rooms were clean and overall nice. However, they are thin walls. We were on the bottom and heard people/ possibly kids running back and forth into odd hours of the night. The. Other guests banging their walls out of frustration. I wish I would have called the front office to help with noise control so my kids could rest too. I would suggest staying on the second floor to avoid guests who may not be so mindful because the walls are thin.

We enjoyed the stayed. They were very accommodating; They gave us a cot for our son to sleep on. The room was ample and very up-to-date styling and modern wireless keycards. We would go there again. The food court is the most convenient thing at the lodge. It’s moderately priced compared to other places up in the Grand Canyon. Our favorite was the tamales. *Mind you the place is still under construction and it is in its final phase.

This is not a five-star hotel, it is ranked as a two-star hotel. I gave five stars in every category because it exceeded expectations by a long shot. The room was super clean and large, it had all the amenities of a fancier hotel, the beds were comfy and the linens were good. there was a safe, refrigerator, great shower and separate sink area. they had a coffee maker and a nice heating and cooling system. The service that we requested from the hotel was quick and professional, the hotel people were friendly and courteous. The help desk for activities was absolutely excellent, and even the cafeteria exceeded my limited expectations. The best thing about Maswick lodge though was the location. Just far enough away from the crowds near the rim, but just close enough to enjoy a beautiful walk several times a day (and evening) to the village. We got home one night to find a large elk guarding our stairs. I could sleep with the windows open and enjoy the fresh air plus step outside for a star show second to none. I really loved this place. Relatively inexpensive but a great value.

Yes they have hot water in the room, but no pots to heat your drinking water. They do have a coffee maker that you can use to make hot water.

I just did the rim to rim a few weeks ago. The view is pretty fantastic from both but the South Rim is a little bit more unobstructed. There are also more viewpoints on the South that give you unique perspectives. Have a great trip!
