Left my info and was asked to come to an "open audition" an hour away from my home. The interview lasted less than five minutes before I was told I would only be represented if I paid up front for their training course which was approximately 1400$. After I told them I wasn't interested in taking a course so far from home, I was pretty rudely dismissed and told I had no chance of finding work without their help.

There is no charge to be with our Modeling Agency. The standard 20% if we get you modeling work.
You do not have to pay to be a model. However if you chose to take modeling workshops or photo sessions, the instructors or photogaphers will ask for a fee.
