First time visiting this theater today to see Marcel the Shell! Absolutely loved it. Theater staff were kind and courteous. Popcorn was delicious, and tickets were reasonably priced. Seats, and theater were very comfy, and I honestly would much rather chose this theater over AMC due to its level of cleanliness. Great constant rotating movie selections as well!

Staffed by the most amazing volunteers ever! We were provided free headphones which provided descriptive audio and also volume control for both the visually impaired and hard of hearing in our group. I was offered free coffee from the members lounge even though it was my first visit here and I am not even a member. Next time I will be sure to bring some cash for the donation box. Friendly environment, sparkling clean and very retro. I will definitely return.

Great place to catch a high quality movie and support a landmark of Tacoma. It is staffed by volunteers who work very hard to provide a good movie viewing experience. They tend to show movies that might not be seen in a mainstream theater but that are absolutely worth watching. Stop in and check it out!

Cool place. My son took me here for mother's day. Popcorn is$7 for a bag, for that price it should be a big bucket. Thank goodness you get wine or a IBA or a hard cider drink there. Will be going back.

Hi, Leah. Here is the translation, which is actually on the slide we show in theaters: "The Grand Cinema gratefully acknowledges that we rest on the traditional lands of the Puyallup People where they make their home and speak the Lushootseed language."
It won't be at least for another month, but we are certainly getting closer. We'll publicize it a lot whenever we are able to. Thanks for thinking about us! ~Philip
Thank you Linda! Yes, we'll definitely survive. As for when we'll reopen, that is very uncertain, but sometime in 2021 we'll be back! Thanks for your support!

If you are traveling on Fawcett towards downtown it is on the right...it is next to Corina bakery on the corner of Fawcett and 6th. Also there is a sign for Meelino art center on that corner
Love love love this place! I live in Idaho but it's the only place I want and do, go to the movies when I'm visiting family.

Yes! There is street parking that fills up fast and a small parking lot available to non-members of the cinema after a certain time of day; I think 4pm? There is a small parking fee.
The Grand Cinema celebrated their 21st birthday today, hence the festive atmosphere
Not that I have seen, although I have only really been following The Grand since last winter.
