Mary who runs the quartermaster store, was very knowledgeable about the history and people who stayed at Fort Mifflin. Her stories definitely enhanced our visit and left us wanting to learn more about the fort that played a pivotal role in the American Revolution.

You can go online and book your tickets, which they prefer right now due to Covid. Keep in mind the buildings are closed and you can only walk the grounds right now.

U can take a lyft or ride a bike, its near the airport so u can take a bus to the airport and backtrack

Could go around the basic areas of the fort. There are some parts that are paved pathways. But it would be pretty restrictive, is my memory.

It is knowen as the fort tjat save America. When Howell capture Philadelphia they needed supplies so they order ship to come up the river. The fort held them off for three weeks if i remember correctly before they abandon it and Howell abandon Philadelphia. The story is great to read and ashame that no one really knowes the whole story about the fort. It became fort mifflin after the war.
