I have been riding since I was 7 and, at 25, the years of experience (and shows) do not show. Despite having been riding (albeit pretty inconsistently) during all of those years, I am now an adult rider who pretty much knows nothing. I'm probably strongest at the actual riding part, and that isn't saying much. From tack on to tack off, I have dozens of questions and, seemingly, an inability to understand the answer the first time it is given to me. This brings me to Teri, Phoenix Farm and the purpose of this review; there is no better place for an adult rider (with or without knowledge). Teri brings so much equine knowledge and experience to the table and, better yet, she is patient and kind as she explains something to me three times before I get it. The systems she has developed at the barn make for an efficient experience where horses, riders and tack are handled intentionally and with great care. I am a teacher for my day job and needless to say I learn a great deal about my own profession from working with Terri as she instructs her students and implements great, sustainable systems. I am excited to continue progressing and building sticky horse knowledge that I actually remember in a year. I recommend Phoenix Farm to anyone at any age looking to grow as a rider/person.

When my 12 y.o. daughter requested jumping lessons my primary concern was safety. I am so grateful we found Phoenix Farms. I have full confidence in the well cared-for lesson horses and am consistently impressed by the high quality instruction she receives from David each week. He is kind, direct, patient, and keenly aware of every rider and horse in the ring during her group lessons. Best of all, the barn has a warm, welcoming family feeling.

This barn is unusual in its down to earth atmosphere, which might let a casual observer underestimate its program. The school's horses are well trained and reliable. Students are paired with appropriate mounts. Careful, thorough, patient teaching help students progress in skill and grow in self confidence and self esteem. Trainers are always pleasant and clearly know how to develop competent equestrians.

I love Phoenix Farm! I had come in September of 2014 and had only ridden bareback before I came to Phoenix. My first show was only five months after I had started riding there in the 2ft hunters. I loved the school horses at Phoenix but now I have my own horse and he is extremely well cared for at Phoenix. Teri and David Duplass go above and beyond being a great teacher and I am so excited to see what my future holds at phoenix farm! Update: I am now going to rated shows with my horse and Teri and David have been so accommodating and wonderful. I love Phoenix Farms!

Best would be to call and contact Terri. From what I know primary is english. If you have a western saddle im sure they could accommodate. Most horses there are very well rounded. Not sure price wise again contact the office im sure they would be happy to help.
