As an athlete, I take my training pretty seriously. After tearing my ACL, I was facing about a year-long recovery before I can get back into MMA ‘full on’. I don’t really have that kind of time or patience so I looked into stem cells as opposed to an ACL reconstruction. It took me three treatments, spaced out a few weeks apart but I’m finally starting to feel better. My stability and strength is coming back, and I was able to perform some light grappling again. I’ve heard some controversy with stem cells before, but after my stem cell treatments I can say it worked for me!

I basically had to decide between arthroscopic surgery on my knee, or stem cell therapy for my meniscus tear. Me being an athlete who enjoys hitting the gym regularly, I opted for stem cell therapy with GIOSTAR Chicago and I’ve been amazed with the results so far. I’m 6 months out from my treatment and my knee feels a lot better. I can run, squat, do lunges, and push my prowler sled! I’m glad I didn’t go under the knife, and went with stem cells instead.

Be cautious with their doctor! I had my procedure a few months back and im skeptical of the dr. The dr did not take the time to review my MRIs despite asking for them prior to my appointment. He accidentally spilled some of my stem cells after they were prepared by the lab. Furthermore he bent a needle in my skin again leading to more stem cells being lost and lastly he also gave me contradicting advisement post stem cell injections. Im not completely sure if the procedure worked but if i would have followed the MDs suggestions after my treatment im sure it would have been a failed procedure. Billie is the MDs assistant and she was great.

I had a great experience from start to finish. The process has greatly improved my mobility. I recommended checking out GIOSTAR to many of my friends with similar medical issues!

Patients often see results within 7 days of the treatment. This depends entirely on the patient's immune system and its ability to adapt to the regenerative cells. Best results typically show within 12 months or after the third treatment.
At the moment, regenerative medicine isn't FDA-approved. However, it is still considered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as the next step in medical treatments. Despite this, the treatments we provide are in accordance with FDA regulations.

"Regenerative medicine" is another term for stem cell therapy, in which stem cells are used to promote the repair response of injured, dysfunctional, or diseased tissue.
Stem cell therapy can be expensive because the stem cell field is highly specialized and it's generally not covered by insurance companies.
PRP and stem cell therapy are different kinds of treatment, although they both utilize the body's natural healing processes.
Unfortunately, most insurance companies do not cover treatments they consider experimental, and regenerative medicine usually falls under this category.
No, regenerative cell therapy is not known to have any side effects. But like any medical procedure, there are possible risks. To minimize possible risks and side effects, our team at GIOSTAR Chicago uses autologous regenerative cells -- cells sourced from the patient's body -- for the procedure.
The first signs of a change in health can be observed within the first 7 days after the first procedure, but it can take up to 12 months to experience full benefits.
Both procedures utilize your body's own healing mechanisms, and enlist growth factors to provide therapeutic benefit. Beyond this, stem cell therapy leverages the differentiating and self-replicating capabilities of stem cells to help regenerate tissues, cartilage, and other regions of the body. Given this, stem cell therapy may be considered a more advanced form of treatment than PRP therapy.
Bone marrow aspiration is a type of regenerative medicine technique which collects bone marrow to reveal the health or condition of your marrow, allowing doctors to discover any existing blood or marrow diseases the patient may have.
