Nice place for boating, jet skiing and fishing.

I took the kayak out for the first time and sadly I wasn't impressed. I know the water quality isn't great and the smell kinda says they will close the beach this summer. It being the largest natural lake in New Jersey, it's a shame that it wasn't kept up over the years. The beach is prime if you want to sunbath in the morning though. Lots of sun!

As of 7/31/20. Gate open for hand carried vessels only today. Nice lake for fishing and boating. Excellent family spot. Apparently quite a few jet skis in the weekend despite signs for no jetskis at that time. Very quiet during weekdays. Paddle board, kayak and raft friendly. No fees, but also no lifeguards so mind your safety of you're 🏊. Water quality is not the greatest and very warm at the shallows, but decent enough. Took an inflatable boat here and had a good time.

The beach area itself is great for tanning, but the water is a little gross. It’s a great place to go for an hour or two, but I couldn’t see myself making a whole day trip out of it. At least it is usually pretty quiet.
