Probably biased because I volunteer here, but I don't know of a food bank with a more caring and loving staff than this one. Not really sure if anybody is looking at Google reviews of the food bank, but Byrd Barr get a lot of its donations from PCC, so we have quality produce ๐ฅฌ๐ฅฆ๐ฝ๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ

I am literally disgusted at this establishment. Why couldn't Byrd Bar Place find a minority owned construction company to remodel a historically black establishment that served the central area community for years,? They hired a construction company who has NO, minority's working besides the illegal Hispanics that live on the grounds. I have seen no woman an 1 black American, and the rest could not care less about a minority person in the least. Stop preaching inclusiveness when you yourselves ate not even thinking about inclusiveness shown through your actions. Actions speak louder Than words. First you change the name and now you further the white dominants in the construction field. The hypocrisy is unbelievable. I have lived in Seattle for 51 years and this blatant disregard and laziness is shameful.

Closed when people would need it most. During the crazy snow storm. Yet they had staff on site and sidewalks shoveled. Yet were unable to provide the food pantry services reading look y offered and promoted at Dshs. This was a crucial need as many had already used their food stamps for the month due to receiving them early. Im disappointed that they had staff and yet failed to provide for the community that was desperately in need.

Byrd Barr wouldn't let me, a disabled person, sit inside their lobby for a few minutes on one of the coldest days of the year. There was a long row of empty chairs, and the desk person insisted that I leave and go outside although I could barely walk from getting too chilled, which is medically dangerous for me. I am not dirty or smelly, I was not causing any disruption, or even talking. She told me the chairs were reserved for people who had appointments, and she was not satisfied when I offered to move if someone arrived who didn't have a seat. She wanted me out of her sight, immediately. There were at least 10 places to sit, all empty. Apparently she wanted the whole place to herself. Disrespectful and dangerous attitude toward vulnerable populations! Giving people food and money means nothing if you won't even share your huge lobby with them for 5 minutes. I will not be back until this is changed and apologies are issued to everyone this has happened to. Every other public lobby in the city does not mind someone taking a few minutes of respite.
