The lady that greeted me was friendly and thanked me for the donation However the road getting back to the building was awful, Had to go to Toyota to have my undercarriage reattached!

I adopted a sweet dog from Wishbone rescue. I was told he was 7 years old and had urinary issues and some dental issues but nothing major. After my first vet visit, it was confirmed that there was no way the dog was only 7 and he was diagnosed with advance Cushing’s disease, heart disease, and severe dental issues. Less than a month later he was found to have blood clots that exasperated his other issues. At two and half months he passed away from kidney failure. I reached out to wishbone for some resources for help paying the vet bills which needed up being over $3000 and they didn’t even bother to respond until I brought up possibly surrendering him back to the rescue. I am an experienced dog owner and most of my dogs have lived past the age of 15. I was completely mislead by this organization who I believe wanted to off load a sick dog so they didn’t have to deal with him.

Have not settled on a dog yet, but have met with a couple. The staff seems to really love the dogs and are committed to finding them good homes.

Wish Bone hosts a low income clinic. I would suggest calling the shelter for more information.
We only rescue dogs; however the Humane Society has rabbits.
Yes. Not a problem
Sara, I'm very sorry for your loss. Wish Bone can definitely use the syringes, but we'd need to check manufacturer, concentration, and expiration info for the insulin. If you have questions about a donation, please call the office at (309) 808-4477. Thank you! It will be a great help!
Yes, please! Donations can be dropped off during the week, or left in the big box by the door. Thank you!
I'd suggest going somewhere else. Their hours are very limited. It makes communication very difficult and dealing with them very frustrating.
don't know, which dog you are referring to, sorry
Wish Bone is a canine rescue organization and use volunteers and this includes veterinary support. They might be willing to refer you to a vet they use. You could also check with the University of Illinois Small Animal Clinic. Both organizations are fantastic.
We are often out in the public at local businesses with dogs for adoption events on Saturday and Sunday. Check our calendar on our website for locations. Our facility is open by appointment only on Saturday.
