Thanks for the Great Experience Tonight in the Cache Room.. Loved the Staff and How Nice They Were.. Definitely Recommend the Piano Bar and the Bartenders are really knowledgeable. The Food Had a lot of Depth and really brought out a Wonderful Experience.. Only Downside, The Stripsteak had some Gristle through the middle.. Flavor was Point On.. Thank You

One of the finest restaurants in Seattle. It is located in a stunning building that was first designed by Roland Terry in 1950 and was later developed in an iconic expression of modern design. You can enjoy the breathtaking views of Seattle, Lake Union, and the Cascade mountain range while dining in this marvelous place. The first Canlis restaurant was opened in 1910 by a Lebanese immigrant, the great-grandmother of the Mark & Brian Canlis (current owners). Canlis, there’s a new chef. Her name is Aisha Ibrahim, and she is the seventh executive chef at Canlis restaurant and the first woman to hold the position. If you are a person inclined to throw down for a new food experience, you deserve to do Canlis. Bring your parents, your significant other, and your boss to impress. If you are interested in exploring more restaurants and cuisines in Seattle follow my page on instagram @shesthegourmand for more content.

Great service and fantastic course meals! Our course menus had a hint of Asian cuisine. Every dish had very sophisticated aroma and taste, which I could feel the passion and skills from chefs!

Dining at Canlis is a "Dining Experience!" Entering the restaurant your greeted with small pleasantries while the host is checking you in for dining. The waiting staff is truly something to witness. They don't speak to one another but help each other on all tables. It was like they were synchronize. Very impressive! My water glass stayed full, the crumbs where brushed away and my husband martini was amazing! If I recall correctly the martini was made with Nolet gin. First time for my husband and he usually drinks Hendrick's gin. Light piano playing in the back ground and the Lake Union water view astonishing!! Unfortunately, we did not get a table view, the view is so vast that pretty much every table was able to get a glimpse of the view. Canlis provides a "snack" before your course starts and it was very tasteful. My husband had the salmon and I had the lamb, the lobster salad with cucumbers so refreshing. Then Canlis provided you with two sides that are not on the menu as well. The potatoes and the grilled cauliflower was very tasty! The peach souffle tickled my fancy and wishing I could have another! Then closing the evening while we're waiting for our check, Canlis provide another tasty dessert again not on the menu which was amazing! We received a marshmallow that look like a piece of white chocolate! There where so many flavors in our meal, our waiter explained what everything was in the dishes and we were just astound on who a Chief and her staff can create such an art with food. Ending the evening walking to leave, my husband and I stated we did not get a valet parking ticket to retrieve our car and said we'll just tell them the make and model. Well.... just like Cinderella our car was waiting for us at the door. How did they know and remember us?!

The Canlis website says: "There's a time and place to look casual. Tonight you're going big, so dress the part. We are a dressy, fine dining restaurant and we ask that gentlemen wear a suit or sport coat if possible. No casual or athletic attire."
To really enjoy it and have the full experience, you should budget $300-$400 for a couple. You could probably get away with less but it's not a place you want to go and pinch pennies. The experience is absolutely worth it.
The staff and the chef are some of the most accommodating I've ever seen. They will take Special Care of a vegan request or any other request you may have
Not for the bar but for dinner seating, very much so. You will need to get reservations probably at least a month in advance in most situations
Really good food. Attention is exceptional and the view spectacular. Worth your money and time. At least try to reserve a month in advance
Yes of course! Everyone is welcome. Our takeout model is almost exclusively delivery, though we are happy for folks to come by and pickup as well. All ordering is online at canlis.com.
The bar is more casual than the dining room, but we do ask for not hats, t-shirts, shorts or sandals. Come on in!
Yes it will be upgraded. Thank for the review
No idea but they are good people. Phone them but bookings are always a while out.
I sorta long for the Canlis menus of the past. You know that old saying:”If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
We don't have a happy hour menu, but we do have a bar and lounge area that is all open seating on a first come first serve basis.
If you check their website it tells you. Essentially its opens 2 months at a time and they tell you when they are going to release the reservations. If I am looking for a particular day I set myself a reminder.
Thank you, hope to get there one day!
Not sure, it's Spendy and I would say YES, It would be
Yes they are, but not for infants, but well behaved children are probably welcome
Yes! The current owners are both former military and they would love it.
Sorry - we are closed on Christmas. Try Goldfinch Tavern.
Parking was valet only and I would think you'd be fine to arrive very near your reservation time
We had ,5 courses with the current menu. They give you a course not listed on the menu.
It's not on the menu, but we're happy pair wines with your courses. Just ask!
Yes.
We have a dedicated small bites menu only available in the lounge. We're biased, but it's delicious. The menu changes often and is made up of contemporary northwest cuisine like oysters with citrus granita and a spicy kanpachi rolls. The lounge features live piano nightly, and is always seated on a first come, first served basis. The full dinner menu may be ordered at the bar seats.
Give them a call.
