This is a charming theater that looks pretty old school with a price point to match. I wish I could give more stars, but I had a somewhat negative experience after seeing The Northman here recently. The movie started 30 minutes after scheduled showtime, and only after someone in the audience got up to let an employee know. Then, they forgot to turn down the lights so we had to watch the first 15-20 minutes of the movie with the lights fully on which made it difficult to see. So overall not a great movie going experience; I probably won't be going back.

It looks like a dingy theater on the outside, but it is a dingy theater on the inside. Bathrooms don't look super clean and I'm worried about the cleanliness of the seats in the theater rooms. However, these qualities don't detract from the quality and variety of the showings themselves, which is realistically what people come to the theater for. Students get a discount so their final price is around $8-9, I believe. It's the best option for recent movies, but nothing special. Seating is not terribly restrained, so it's comfortable enough. Thus, if you're going to a theater for cost and a movie, this is the place to go.

Bought tickets for a 4:30 showing but when I arrived at almost exactly 4:30 the doors were chained shut and nobody was there. Have called multiple times to try and get a refund but have never had someone pick up the phone.

No frills basic theater, all auditoriums are upstairs but there is an old janky elevator.

If they do not have this information on their website, it would probably be best to give them a call.

Is this owned by AMC now?

No, AMC only lists three locations in Seattle (Pacific Place, Oak Tree, Sundance), and Varsity is listed on Far Away Entertainment's website. If there is a deal in the works, it has not gone through yet. However, I can't find mention of an acquisition on Google.

I don't believe so, it's not on our coming soon list.
