Very discrimatory practices by the assigned property manager of the Yesler Court named Sara Mayfield. She gets in tenant disputes and sides with tenants that are blatantly breaking the law and violates HIPPA laws and confidentiality, She is very unprofessional and SHA is not providing unbiased/equitable service to all clients alike. The employees of SHA should defuse issues not add to them. A tenant violating a NO CONTACT order with her abuser and aiding him with terrorizing other tenants and their guest should be unacceptable but Sara seems to think otherwise. Why would you violate the law for a tenant unless you have a personal relationship with them or a personal investment?? SHA used to treat their clients better than this!!!

I have been staying with Seattle housing authority for 6 years now and I love the staff members. I have personally became friends with some of them and I look at them as my family. i wish however there were more properties that had porches and balcony’s in the south end for single people. I have two cats and that would be the only thing I would change and make Seattle housing better. I can’t move to the north side due to my vision and my close friends and some family are further south so that would be a plus. Also I don’t care for high buildings it would be nice to see single floor units or even units three stories high with balcons in the south end. i love some of the buildings in the north end but like I said I cannot move to the north. Other that Seattle housing is a GREAT housing authority and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs housing! Ps) what ever you do DO NOT RENT FROM RENTON HOUSING they are a complete nightmare! tacoma housing is great too good luck everyone!

Evil, malevolent, megalomaniacal, tyrants! I was atenant under SHA for three years. They are just too heartless. Got complaints? They ignore you! Change of income? They'll ignore you!! If you happen to be disabled, they'll look at you with disdain and mistreat you! I had my hearing illegally tested when I complained with a tenant above me for years! They lied that he had no furniture! I wouldn't recommend this place to my hated enemy! Do not go to SHA, is you value your sanity, your life and your dreams! They're monsters that should be sued to oblivion!

Most of the time these people are great but I noticed a couple new receptionists one of which was one of the rudest inconsiderate person I've seen in ages. I can tell that this is the type of person who KICKS people when they are down. These ass wholes hire people like that yet I applied for a job with them four different times and never even got an interview. They seem to not want people my age it seems that they prefer much younger people to hire even if they are RUDE.

No, they do not.
Sorry I don't know.
No
Depending on what building you applied for the wait list Can be years long..they usually give you an idea how the list is for the building you applied for at the time you turn in your application..continue to check in every month. When you get near the top of the list they will have you update your application..I waited six years for the building I wanted to get into..but typically I think the wait lists are about 1-2 years.
I believe there is some kind of voucher attached to your subsidy after 1 year but call them and ask if you can port out of project housing and still retain your rental assistance
Get a lawyer involved. My friend had the same problem. Had it fixed in one week
You can take rapid line D , bus 1, bus 24, bus 13
No. But if you're going to live together you will need to contact your property staff and your section 8 case worket to add your spouse and any extra income into the household will need to be included.
Its based upon your income. There are different subsidy programs but generally 30% of total household imcome
