Praise Jesus Christ. I have gone to a few events at this church and they have always been glorifying to Jesus Christ.

First time my family visited we parked and walked in. Some rude church goers were blocking the sidewalk chatting and would not move to the side, so we had to walk through the grass. When we entered the church we were only greeted with a curt nod from the man holding the door nothing else. Once inside we went in, sat down and listened to the sermon. When it was over, we got up and left. During that entire time frame we were not greeted by anyone in the church. No friendly atmosphere. We were also not impressed by the sermon.

Where do I begin??? Great Bridge Baptist Church has been home to me now for over 2 years. I am not a "Church Hopper" having been an active member of only 3 Churches in my 71 years of life. I encountered nothing but a warmth & friendliness when I first visited, but more importantly a sense of God's presence, when I first attended over 6 years ago while ministering with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Having traveled extensively throughout the mid-Atlantic/Southern States sharing The Gospel, I encountered many forms of worship! Having come from both small as well as large congregations, a central missing theme in some of them was Discipleship. After finishing my tenure with BGEA, I realized I was "burnt out" and needed to be a part of a Church and sit under a strong, godly Pastor where I could be refreshed anew with The Gospel. I found that leadership at GBBC after searching out other local Christ-centered Churches in the area. The Music has both a traditional as well as small contemporary blend. The Worship Pastor leading the Choir/Orchestra brings the Congregation to a point where we are not only ready, but prepared to hear the Message that our Pastor is about to bring. My Wife and I have found the Staff to be available not just on Sunday mornings, but at other times during the week to answer questions, meet, and even visit with visitors new to the Church. There are Sunday School Classes for all age groups on Sunday mornings along with various men & women Bible Studies at other times. Both the Youth & Children have strong Pastoral Leadership. As one who was looking to be "refreshed" with sound Biblical teachings, I found that, and continue to do so at GBBC!
