I did adult modern and hip hop classes at ADI for four years and only stopped because I moved. Every class felt like a community. The teachers were all creative, positive, and always willing to offer modifications when we needed them. If you are an adult wanting to dance, try American Dance Institute.

I really appreciate that I have American Dance Institute in my backyard. The teachers are welcoming, especially as an adult who is wanting to learn dance with no dance background. And I can see myself improve since my teachers don't tiptoe around advice. ADI also has a variety of classes, including Irish dance and I look forward to when we can do in person classes again! I also enjoy the community created by my classmates, it's really nice to hear about everyone's wildly different experiences after a long workday.

I can't recommend ADI enough! Twenty years ago I took ballet here with Anna and Elizabeth, then I brought my daughter to the Mom n Baby classes with Ines, then started her on Irish with Janelle. She is now an Open Champion with Tara Academy. Thank you for your wonderful teaching that helped my daughter grow into the amazing person and dancer she is today. I sincerely believe that the toddler-level classes helped her to become an excellent student, capable of learning anything. Janelle launched her into Irish and directed her when the time was right to Tara. ADI was a precious and formative beginning for her, and our family is so grateful.

At this time of this writing, I am in my second term of Ballet at ADI. I'm an adult and I didn't start dancing at all until after I was 30. To me, going into a room full of mirrors and strangers, and moving my body around in front of them is one of the most terrifying things I've ever done (and I regularly do terrifying things). None of my friends or coworkers do ballet, and none of my friends growing up did ballet after early childhood. I still had to deal with all of the anxiety I brought with me. However, the staff at ADI has been welcoming and attentive, and they regularly take it upon themselves to deliver a better service as a business and a school. If you're an adult and you have an interest in ballet, and you're worried about starting decades late, or if you want to participate in dance, but you need help getting there, then I recommend ADI, because they have experience being professional and compassionate.

I might wanna start doing dance again (I quit when I was 8 and now I'm 14) but I'm busy with school and rehearsals for our school musical. What should I do?

McKenna, sorry for the delay in answering your question. I’m not sure if you’re just as busy now as you were then but the answer is if you’re busy all year in school and you really can’t squeeze in another activity you might consider our summer classes. If you go to our website www.americandanceinstitute.com go to any class page and you’ll see an opportunity to sign up for our mailing list. When the new schedule is announced, you’ll get a notification.
