I have never been so impressed with the friendly and knowledgeable customer service of an art gallery! The way they handled me as a novice collector was amazing. My inquiry was asked and answered within hours. I will definitely consider this gallery in the future.

It took time to search for the best gallery to cosign our William Keith original, but it paid off. The Kodner Gallery was very professional and helpful in finding a qualified buyer and obtaining a fair price.

I have discussed with David Kodner, an owner of the gallery, about some of his fine art and possibly even placing some of my own on consignment with them on several occasions since I discovered this fine gallery about a month ago. Though I have not quite yet engaged in a transaction with Kodner Gallery, I can say unequivocally that David has been very professional in his interaction with me, friendly, straightforward, and very knowledgeable in his business and very, very helpful. I have absolutely no reservations in making a purchase with the gallery when I decide further on the painting I wish to acquire from them A first class outfit!

Questions & Answers

Do you buy prints of paintings

I would love to say that there is a market for "Prints", but I'm afraid that other than VERY limited examples by WELL KNOWN "DEMAND" artists, we find that most "Prints" are, in fact, at the low end of the totem pole - Exceptions are rare!! -- As with ALL artwork (and other items) DEMAND is the key. That spurs interest in owning, then condition, will place it on a scale of value. Most prints are purchased for aesthetics and fall into a "DECOR" category and sometimes are not worth anywhere near the cost of framing!

Are you familiar with an American artist by the name of Carolyn Brady? I have a very large still life of flowers which was purchased in 1991. We are downsizing and I would like to find the best dealer to sell this piece of art.

IF this is the same CAROLYN BRADY - 1937 - ? listed in "Davenport's" Art Guide, She offered for sale at Christie's Auctions, New York in 1994, one 44" x 63" ( over-the-couch) water color, entitled "LUNCH TABLE" ,with an $800 reserve THAT DID NOT SELL. Since she IS a listed artist her work might have some value, but would not be "VALUABLE" -- That being said, your painting might have more appeal and actually be salable. WE would like to see it !! -- Thanks for the question -- Art

HI, I have several pieces of Chinese pottery from the 1800's. do you take those kinds of things on consignment? thanks

First we need to examine the piece(s) for damage -- Next see if there is any sign of a signature, or identifying mark as to the maker. Place it in a category of materials, design and origin i.e. Korean, Chinese, or Japanese. Research the ACTUAL sales of items of a like or similar nature, in order to establish demand ,and appropriate value. Actual CHINESE import items on today's market are somewhat in demand!! Hope this helps -- Art

Hello, I have 2 large unmatched circular wall plates, given to my father by an Iranian Official who stated they are ancient and valuable.. One is silver and gold and the other is silver. Can you give me an estimate to appraise them? Thanks, Pat

They sound interesting -- In order to intelligently evaluate we need to see, taste, feel, and smell -- in other words an actual examination is necessary to determine all of the things needed to determine where they fall in a Demand + value area -- Would love to see them!! --- Art

I have an oil painting done by M P Goossen, signed and dated 1911 "Holland". Purchased 30 yrs. ago at a yard sale near Shaw's garden. Can't find anything about the artist. Know this artist?

Arthur Buell | Nov 2, 2018

Since a hasty peek at all of the references at hand did not turn up this artist, I'm afraid that He, (or She) might remain unknown as are millions of great unidentified artiste who compete for a place of prominence in the Art world. Pieces such as these fall into a "DECOR" category and depending upon the subject matter and talent of the artist may compete favorably in the arena of demand and value. Artists having artwork actually offered for sale by major Galleries are the only usually termed as "Listed" artists and have established some value to their work.

Is an appointment needed to bring in painting for evaluation?

Usually not, BUT as we are sometimes called out of the office, a call ahead of time will certainly be appropriate! --- We would love to hear from you !!! --- We are as close as your phone!!
