I simply can’t afford it. The front office staff are great and extremely friendly, Dr. Hutchinson is very kind, the building is nice but I just can’t afford these prices. Prices increased for splint changes while my cat was recovering from a broken leg (this is most recent example). The price before the increase already made me cringe. Once it was upped mid treatment plan (without notice prior to the splint change), I started calling other vet practices in the area. The splint change cost alone was, on average, over 60% cheaper elsewhere. I switched to one of the practices I called and am so relieved when the bill comes.

Was thinking about adopting a stray cat, that had been hanging around my house. He was a real sweetheart and would come and greet me, when I came home in the morning. Now, I already have a cat in my house, and no matter how sweet the stray was, I didn't want to risk her health. I had the stray in a carrier, before I called to see if I could get an appointment. My usual vet, told me two weeks, and another they couldn't see me today. However Stringtown Animal Hospital could get me in. They have a particular check in procedure, where they come out to your vehicle to handle the initial intake. It's at your option to go in or not, but wearing a mask is required, if you do. I did get appropriately gendered, once they saw me, at the initial intake. I wish it was a happy ending, but the stray tested positive for FIV, and I could not risk my cat getting sick from bringing him in the house. I did finally adopt another cat, but one of the conditions from the agency was having my current cat taken to a vet, and having them checked out. So I ended up bringing Lucky here for their first vet checkup since we brought them in over 10 years ago. The new cat's had a couple visits since adopting him, and is now part of our little family.
