Yes
I have been a customer of this location for decades and I have never experience a single rude store associate or manager. In fact, all of them have gone out of their way and even out of their own departments to assist me in locating items but for future reference JCPenney has in store WiFi so you can search for your item or price check your item from your smartphone. I also disagree with your assessment of the store manager that because as of all retail stores they now can tell you what inventory they have in stock from your smartphone or your computer so I highly disagree with your assessment of the JCPenney in Hammond.
No. The store is freshly remodeled and honestly resembles what Sears used to look like with appliances and mattresses. To me it is a bit disappointing that JCP would even consider trying to up where Sears left off
