Just stayed at this Holiday Inn in Aurora for two nights while visiting family in the area. Was surprised find out that their housekeeping staff will NOT clean your room every day if you stay at their hotel for more than one night. The front desk personnel informed us of this when we inquired why our room wasn’t cleaned the second day of our stay. She said they will only clean the room IF the guest requests it, due to a shortage of staff. If that’s their policy then it should be stated on their website while making the reservation or displayed prominently during check-in (which it is not). So, the bottom line is that you shouldn’t have to pay full price for a room for less than full service at a Holiday Inn. Not up to the brand standards. Not cool.

I made the reservations for my stay on January 20th and when I arrived on January 21st the lady working at the desk said that the reservation must have just been made because she had already made room assignments for all of the reservations for that night. She told me that the room I had reserved was not available and asked me if a King room would work. I told her I had my family with me and needed the double queen room I had reserved. She told me she could go check on a couple of rooms that are hold rooms for regular guest that come in regularly. While we waited another lady came to the desk and was talking with me and told me that as a best practice, I should make it a habit of calling the day of my reservation to make sure the room I reserved will still be available. I have been traveling for work and pleasure for 25 years and have never had to do that. That is the entire point of the reservation! My reservation for my stay on January 21st indicated that I would be charged for 1 night's stay if I didn't show up so my room should be available since you planned to charge me for it no matter if I showed up or not. After that first lady returned, she informed me that she found a double queen room that was available. This was between 20-25 minutes after I had initially arrived and tried to check in. It was late and my family and I were tired. We didn't want to spend time waiting to see if a room could be found for us. We wanted to get in bed and go to sleep. I would like to call attention to the fact that there were no more than 15 cars in the parking lot, so I know the hotel wasn't at capacity for the night. The next morning when we left we noticed that the housekeeping staff had the door to almost every room on our floor open cleaning the rooms. So, it looked like the hotel had been leaving rooms uncleaned and bringing the housekeeping staff in every few days to clean leaving fewer rooms available for guests. What I would like to tell you is that if I can't rely on my reservation to hold my room then your hotels are not a place I will be staying in the future. I am looking forward to hearing your response.

Great place! The front desk staff made my check in so easy as I was in hurry. Rooms were clean and beds are comfortable.

Loved the new lady working the front desk! She made certain I received a room near the elevator! She admitted reading the notes & saw my preference. Kudos to her. Only complaint I have ever had about this hotel is housekeeping knocking on the door to see if I was gone. This happened again. I tend to put out the do not disturb placard to avoid this issue. However, this room did not have one.
