Best place on Lake Union in Seattle for an outdoor Lunch for about $20. Watch boats sailing from lake Washington to Lake Union as you dine on Fish n Chips. The Smoked Salmon Chowder is especially good. On the day of our visit, we spotted the Seattle Fire Boat "Chief Seattle" passing by. Kenmore Air Float planes can be seen in the distance. They cut a take off path on the Lake to alert boaters of intended take departure. Free guest parking across the street. Property also offers a 100 feet boat dock and free tie up while dining at restuarant. Pick up your order, then access the dining dock by walking around the Salmon House Restaurant entrance and continue about 10 feet past totem poles to the outside ramp leading to dock where there are tables and chairs. Crank up umbrellas offer shade. If you prefer a historic spirit inspiring setting, dine inside Salmon House for Lunch or Dinner. The Bar offers a large Happy Hour Menu which rates a separate review.

Ivars is so good! I haven’t been to this location in years! I love their traditional history exhibits. Of Washington State tribes. Such beautiful carvings, photos and, canoes! Right on the water for awesome views. Parking was strange but worth the hassle. Clam chowder is a must! We ordered the chinook surf and Turf everything tasted great! My pics don’t do this place justice please visit if you can. Restaurant is old so we were a little to hot but otherwise awesome place.

My Wife and I traveled all the way from Hawaii to Meet Chef Jason Castillo and experience this Seattle gem right on the waterfront. I couldn't decide what to order so I went with the "Taste of the Northwest", a combination plate with Alder wood grilled Coho salmon, Alaska halibut, seared Alaska Weathervane scallops, citrus beurre blanc, garlic Yukon Gold mashed potatoes & asparagus. My wife went with the Alder wood grilled, King Salmon Alaska snow crab and prawn relish, saffron lemon reduction, beet coulis, Yukon Gold garlic mash & Asparagus. I highly recommend Ivar's Salmon House. The long house design and Native art enhance the ambiance. The view of boats going past is on Lake Union was spectacular, the food even more so, and the drink menu was fun, creative, and full of attention to details, such as those Luxardo cherries!

Today my Sister and I came to the Ivar's Fish Bar outside the Salmon House.. As a way to celebrate her life us 2 older Siblings are here to celebrate one of our Mothers Favorite eateries. We enjoyed having her favorite fried oysters and chips together. We also were very happy with the cook as he understood our loss. Although she is not here on earth anymore we will still celebrate her delicious foods together.

Yes! That's a great way to go in there! Northwest classic!
The story of Ivar's Seafood Restaurants began in 1938 when 33-year old Seattle native Ivar Haglund opened his city's first aquarium on ...
There should be a restroom inside the main restraunt that they will let you use
No
You can pick up your meal at Ivar's Salmon House FISH BAR and sit by the water but the restaurant patio service along with inside dining is temporarily closed.
Go to pier 52 on the waterfront in seattle and speak with them directly
I believe so.
It is very popular in the summer, especially if you want to get a window seat overlooking Lake Union. Once seated your order will come quickly. Service is very good.
Only the shellfish is farmed. All of the fish is wild caught.
Gratuity is not included.
Yes they do. The best views are from tables along the windows looking out over lake Union
Sam, This was a very difficult decision for us to make after operating our Sunday Brunch for over thirty years. There were several things that factored in to the decision, and it was not taken lightly. We currently offer our buffet on holidays only- Easter, Mother's Day & Father's Day, and look forward to continuing those holiday traditions. Best, Michelle
Hi Laura, Unfortunately we are not on our full service barge or west deck. You can though get food from the walk up fish bar and dogs are allowed in their outside seating areas. Best, Michelle Deide
Yes~ We have a small lot on either end of the building, a large lot across the street, and a third lot to the east of the big one.
