Love this beautiful park. It has several parks featuring different themes and nature. You can follow the trails for a wonderful stoll in a nice weekend afternoon. Because of the number of parks, you hardly need to worry about meeting too many people, even when there are quite a few visitors. The flowers are always abundant, a great place for some relaxation.

Lake Wilderness is quite possibly *the* best park/beach that I have ever been to. The beach portion is clean, well maintained, and (the best part) well staffed. They have two lifeguards (one on the beach and one on the docks). The docks are really nice and the water is marked for swimming skill level. The hut has some food options and you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats for $24 (ish) per hour. The park is super pretty and (again) well maintained. Very clean and there is obviously a lot of pride the parks department has in this park. The lodge is super cool as well. The city uses it for public socials and meeting rooms. They do family movie nights and music in the park throughout the summer. We just moved to the area from Minnesota, and one of the first things we noticed was how much work the city puts into their parks and trails. They do a fantastic job to offer a free and fun place for their citizens. I love bringing my kids and dog to Lake Wilderness!

This is an excellent park that features an arboretum, disc golf course, forested trails, lake access via a beach. There is plenty of parking at various access points and also various facilities. The arboretum is quite impressive, featuring many garden themes. The trail network is fairly extensive as well.

Beautiful park with many activities for both kids and adults. Lots of access to swimming. We rented kayak and peddling. There is good area for fishing. Many shelters to reserve in advance for small gatherings. Huge space for picnics. Overall we had a wonderful experience in this park. We will visit again soon.

Yes. They have them inside the restroom, you would need your own amenities
No fee for entry but get there early because it can get crowded if it's hot out
Yes, it's open. I've been there for kayaking and fishing in the last couple of weeks.
I was there today and didn't any signs for a closed day of July first.
Yes.. I believe it is on a metro bus route
Yes on the back side. I believe it a no wake no motor lake. But maybe I've seen trolling motors. You will see canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. when you come in from Witte you need to go around past the Arboretum, park and ball fields. Small boat launch and parking is next. Hope this helps.

Although there is plenty of beautiful open space the rules say no off leash or swimming in beach area.
