The facility is very clean and there were a lot of activities the kids could choose from. There were different levels of playground difficulty, 3 water stations, an arts and crafts room, and a reading area. It's probably one of the smaller museums that I've visited, but they used the space well and there was plenty of fun to be had. My son really enjoyed his time there and didn't want to leave. I appreciate the pay-as-you-will admission, as some of the play places have outrageous admission prices. I'd definitely come here again.

Great place for kiddos to play and explore. Pay as you will, so it is affordable. My daughter loved the water table area and the arts&crafts room. They had little aprons at both spots so she didn't get wet or get paint on her clothes.

Incredible - pay what you will helps families with any budget attend the museum! Smaller space but a TON to do! Be prepared to get messy in the art area and climb around with your children on the many different play structures. Plan on spending at least 1.5 hrs here. There is a small vending area in the lobby. I would like to try the sensory hours to have a less overwhelming experience.

We've been members for a few months and visit the JBLM location often but we finally had a chance to check out the Tacoma location. We had so much fun, our son really loved the water station, and our daughter had a great time creating art in the studio space. We can't wait to visit again!

Put your stuff in a back pack in case the lockers are full. Lots of water kids should wear short sleeves.
My son has enjoyed visiting since he was crawling and pulling to stand. The area to the right of the entrance has stairs and a ramp to scoot up and down, knobs and textures on the walls for littles to investigate, and a small cabin kitchen. Since the entrance cost is any donation, it's always been worth a few dollars for an hour of getting out of the house into a new stimulating environment!
According to Google their hours are: Wednesday10AM–5PM Thursday 10AM–5PM Friday 10AM–5PM Saturday 10AM–5PM Sunday 10AM–5PM Monday Closed Tuesday Closed So today they should be closing at 5pm. Hope this helps! (:

This children's museum is best for 18 months to about 5 years. Older kids will enjoy it, but it's designed for preschool.
Its free to get in, unless you want to leave a donation. Hope that helps!
Admission is by donation, there's no standard fee. Just pay what you want/can.
Angela, younger kids like toddlers through preschoolers , maybe some young grades like 1st and 2nd. There are a lot of activities for really all kids
Not much for breakfast besides Starbucks and anthem coffee. There is elemental pizza and the Swiss. It is close to UW. So some good food. Have fun it's a great museum
