Great venue but way too crowded during free skate and there have these skating aids that are really more like toys and kids push each other around on them. We saw kids literally knock over adults on the ice. They definitely need a rule that only an adult can push a child on the skating aid. Kids pushing other kids like a toy was really dangerous for all skaters. The rinks themselves were nice though and there were three of them but only one was open for free skate.

Great facilities here with friendly staff. My daughter comes here 3-4x/week for her figure skating sessions with a well established group of coaches here. Has the three rinks two for hockey and one is a mixed use for learn to skate, figure skating, curling. Second floor has a Starbucks, Kraken team store, some hockey associated video games, has a good view of the ice hockey rinks, but unfortunately no good view of the figure skating rink for parents who are waiting during lessons. Still highly recommended and would recommend this facility for anyone learning to skate, learning to play hockey, or figure skating as well.

Great rink. The ice is a good density, the staff if friendly and helpful, they have 3 rinks so there's always something going on. There is a great Kraken souvenir shop on the second floor. They have a Starbucks as well which does a great job at making Pikes Place only beverages as well as having some of their own which is great to have for those early morning and long weekend tournaments. There is pizza at the skate rental, but also a full Restaurant on the second floor named appropriatly The 32 Bar & Grill with cool memorabilia and a view of all 3 rinks. The Kraken have their headquarters here and they have team practices open to the public fans can watch for free.

Overall really nice! The arena is new, so everything is fresh and the skates were still well maintained. My only issue was the locker space. There were only 10 visible, unless I missed some. But nobody stole my items or shoes, so that helps to keep the atmosphere feeling safe and secure. The price was decent, and the secured time was 2 hours, so all together that was an awesome experience. Will definitely be coming back again to skate and have fun!

Is there anywhere to eat in the skating vicinity?

Samuel Stallcup | Aug 11, 2022

There’s a Starbucks, a Bar/Grill, and there’s other restaurants around the Iceplex (Chipotle, Red Robin), however those are not very easy to access if you’re not in a car. (No pathway or sidewalk built)

How is parking? Is there a lot on-site or is it the typical Seattle parking experience where you just have to figure it out?

Chance Lutostanski | Aug 10, 2022

Bike parking is right at the entrance. For cars, it's the typical Seattle experience where the parking lot takes up several blocks of land. There is also a Link station with a bus terminal nearby.

Do they require COVID-19 vaccinations to ice skate?

Khyla Phillips | Aug 10, 2022
Sel Delgado | Aug 11, 2022

No, they don’t. But they require masks over nose and mouth inside the facility, on and off the ice.

I don't know their entire practice schedule but I do know they will be practicing at noon. That is the time our tickets to watch are for.
