I recently rented a minivan from Avis at Islip/MacArthur airport. I informed the representative that we were traveling from NY to FL and she failed to mention that the vehicle did not have GPS in it. That was a problem for me. We had to use our cell phones which did not connect to screen in van. This made the journey more hazardous as we had to keep looking down at our phone screens. One would think that in 2022 all vehicles would have GPS as a standard feature. My second complaint was with the representative when we picked up the vehicle --- she was less than polite -- very short-- certainly not customer friendly. My son noted that the National Car rental representatives were extremely polite in their dealings with customers. A no brainer for our next vehicle rental!

Would give 0 stars if I could. I made a prepaid reservation on the phone one hour before the pick up time and even selected a car. In fact the person on the phone was so kind when making the reservation. I took a cab to the location, only to be told that they don't have any cars and I have to cancel my reservation. I wasn't the only one who was calling to get a refund. There was a lady who booked her rental a MONTH ago in the same situation. The staff didn't offer any help other than just give us a pamphlet with the number to call. I received a free one-day-rental from customer service, but I doubt I will ever use avis again even with the free rental. This was a ridiculous experience; what a waste of time and money.
