There is a good amount of privacy from the other camp sights which is nice. We stayed at sight 107. There was a good spot for a hammock. There is power both 120 and 220. It’s a rock bed for vehicles which isn’t super friendly for tents, make sure you bring a sleeping pad. I also included photos of site 109. There are paths that connect the sights. The negative were the bathrooms. It’s all porta potty’s near camp. The bath houses are not well kept. There is water near almost all camp sights. Now I don’t mean to be this guy but the raccoons here suck! They are so used to humans that they have zero fear of people. Keep your camp sight clean! Even so they somehow swiped our hotdog buns and marshmallows! It’s kind of funny because we made a serious effort to keep the food hidden in the car. I have no idea when they got them! Either way the bathrooms situation might have us looking elsewhere or maybe it was a fluke. Lastly, buy wood from Jacks, it was much much dryer!

A little pricey for a rustic site. Paid for 2 sites next to each other. One site was a swamp, wanted to set the tents up on the other site cuz there was more than enough room, but they were sticklers about 2 tents per site and made us move them anyway. Still had a good time though. If it's been dry and not raining for 3 days straight, you probably won't have any issues.

Great place to go for a hike! Tons to see. Lots of steps and paths. You won’t normally get off the trail here. There’s a murder crime scene from back in the 60s-70’s by a waterfall you can see. Lots of beautiful rock, water streams and waterfalls. Great place to go year round and don’t have to worry much about the trails being muddy or soggy. Lots of different places to check out and there’s maps everywhere telling you where you’re at and what’s nearby. Nice overview of the Illinois river and a lock and dam. Also a good lookout point for Eagles.

Heavily used park, poorly maintained. Campground grass needed mowed, weeds around fire pits and trees were 8 to 24 inches tall. Restrooms were nasty dirty, park staff drove by opened the door looked around and then drove off. Campers left masks and trash on the ground and was still there the next evening. Would not return. Trails were pretty good, some interesting areas. Views along the river were nice.

There's water just not at camp site. Water and campsite all good....
Yes, if kept on a leash. Also, against the rules to tie them to trees. Acceptable to let well behaved dogs to romp in the lake, just not on the beach.
It cost nothing to go to Starved Rock... now if you want to camp that will cost you anywhere between $12 to $25 a nite. Go to Starved rock in joy yourself have Adventure. Be for warned it's a very popular place if you think ur going to camp out make sure to make reservations....peace to you.
Yes there is electric . Not sure on cost. Bathrooms are not clean, and older.
3pm is check out and check in is supposed to be 4pm,but if the site is open, they'll let you in earlier
Yes! There's tent camping, rv camping, and cabins.
You do not have to make a reservation, although if suggest you do. You can "walk in," but this is a very popular campground, and it is pretty well reserved especially on weekends and even moreso during the height of the camping season.
