This is the only place in town that feeds you a Real meal for free , something like you would get from your mom or a restaurant. Breakfast at 7 and Dinner at 5. The young men helping serve the meals make me proud to be a Christian.

I am generally not a negative person but I was feeling humiliated when I go to get the donation food in the box. People ushering you in are awful rude. Most of the time they’re nice behind the counter. I just don’t wanna be humiliated when I go in there. And I do feel humiliated due to the reaction of employees sometimes. The older man that helps usher you through the line has a bad habit of being rude. I just happened to me one time, it happens to me each time.

Don’t trust these people. Waited 2 months for them to pick up a donation and then they refuse to take it. Large sectional sofa in very good condition except for 1 patch. Ridiculous to think that a donation to a homeless shelter is expected to be in brand new condition. I guess they don’t really care about the people, just about the money. If anyone in the Reno/Sparks area needs a nice couch, come get it FREE.

Breakfast is served everyday at 7am. Dinner is served every day at 5pm.

No TV's. Proper disposal of non working donations is too much money. Not sure about stereo system.
I have been volunteering there for 7 years. Their program is between 12 and 15 months depending on when you enter. Sometimes there's a waiting list sometimes not. If you call them they will let you know. They do have help getting started after you graduate with school or jobs. I believe you don't need anything and they don't charge you, you just have to work there.
The Reno Sparks Gospel Mission has a 12 month Christian addiction recovery program. They also teach the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. All you need to do is show up to the front desk and fill out an application. Bring what you have and be prepared to stay.
