I just had the WORST experience with a man who called me back after my leaving a message with them trying to get information about classes. The man refused to tell me his name so I don't know what it is, but I know he was working today, October 14, 2020 and he returned my call at 11:36 am. I got their number through HHS for sliding scale classes just to better myself, not for any type of court ordered class, and proceeded to ask him why the class was almost $600 and if they were offering sliding scale prices like HHS had told me when giving me their contact info. He said that people who might qualify for sliding scale payment would need to not only pay two separate non-refundable fees before even being accepted, but that I would have to have a job that paid at least $12/hour in order to even qualify, as well as having to present a lease, electricity bill, water bill and several other bills in MY name in order to even be accepted into their program, and after paying all these fees and providing all of these ridiculous proofs of income and rent and bills, only THEN would they determine if I could even be accepted into being allowed to take their classes. I told him, "That's WAY too expensive for me. I don't have a job since March because of Covid and I stay with my family so I don't have a lease in my name or any of the other bills. Thank you." And disconnected the call. This man had the unmitigated gall to call me back and demand "Did you just hang up on me?!" I said, "No, did you not hear me tell you I was not interested before I hung up? What's the problem?" And he said, "I have no choice but to report you to the court and to your probation/parole officer..." and continued threatening me! I was incredulous! I said, "EXCUSE ME?? Are you seriously trying to call me back just to try to start trouble for me?? I don't HAVE A COURT CASE, PAROLE OR PROBATION OFFICER!! I was literally CALLING OUT OF MY OWN FREE WILL TO BETTER MYSELF, did you not hear me when we spoke before that I got your number from Health and Human Services?!. I find it absolutely deplorable that you would not only call back and threaten to make trouble for people, but during a time like this when people are struggling so much, you would be that nasty by trying to further make those peoples' lives difficult and add to their problems?! How dare you!! WHAT IS YOUR NAME??" He then had the audacity to hang up on me after calling to scold me for hanging up on him. Hypocritical doesn't even cover it!! His treatment of people is uncalled for and he is on some type of power trip because he obviously has serious mental illness and feels the need to Lorde over people who call there! AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS or you will be very sorry, this man will try to ruin your life!
