If the powers that be at Austin Energy ever read (and took seriously) some of these reviews they’d have to realize that sheer lack of staff training and a complete lack of accountability is at the root of most of their customer service failures. Train your staff. Then hold staff accountable. I don’t how many different agents I spoke to getting a different (ultimately wrong) answer each time. At least the agents providing a wrong answer were making an effort, as opposed to the agents who had NO IDEA on earth how to assist and made it clear it wasn’t their job to find out.

It is the worst service in the city, I can't believe that we are in the United States of America and they don't have staff to solve and solve problems with energy here in Texas ... horrible, it doesn't give me the option of not putting any stars ⭐por I didn't put any, HORRIBLE AWFUL SERVICE

Garbage service and abysmal pricing. One of the worst utility companies in the country. Pay very close attention to your bills. They will do anything and everything to overcharge you or just straight up steal from you.

I've been with Austin Energy for roughly 5 years. Their customer care team has been stellar every step of the way. Especially my most recent call with Sky. (Read far below for details.) We all know the snow-pocalypse was bad. Yes, I didn't have power for 7 days. But I heard the electricians working nearly 24/7 on powerlines all over the placs. So, knocking stars off because of an unprecedented snow storm+deep freeze would just be..Petty. During the height of covid, I ran very low on cash and was unable to pay my balance for months. They kindly worked with me and setup payment plan that worked with my budget.. the dude I spoke with back then was great. NOW! What actually made me start this review. I'm moving in 2 weeks. I called customer service this morning and spoke with a woman named Sky. She was extremely helpful in giving me all info I needed in regards to transferring service to my new place. She made a personal connection with me and then asked to confirm my info before divulging any personal account details in a fuild/organic fashion! (Well done btw) :) I asked if transferring may affect my payment arrangement. Instead of just "no" or "yes" I could tell she was combing through info on her computer, she put me on a brief hold and gave me a definitive answer with details. I could tell she went the extra mile and double-confirmed the info before giving me the info. She did all of this in under 19 minutes from the time she introduced herself. Sky, if you see this, thankyou. Your caring tone and positive demeanor show genuine professionalism. I've worked in this field before. Sky, you scored a 💯!!! Throughout the years, I've called the CSL many times. Granted, they weren't all 💯.. BUT! my concerns were addressed every time. I never left a call feeling sour. AUSTIN ENERGY: Please recognize Sky as a rising star in your company. She is yet another wonderful employee.
