We moved Mom to Georgetown Living right before COVID. Mom had Dementia, and had just had a big fall. We realized that we were not able to care for Mom from home. It was a very difficult decision for us. However, the staff at GL truly made the transition as comfortable as possible for us. Then as COVID hit and we were unable to see Mom, we still received regular updates. Through all of Mom's ups and downs regarding her health, GL always kept us in the loop, and well informed. I treasure the staff at GL, and am so very thankful Mom had such great care. Sadly Mom went home to be withe The Lord earlier this year. Though she is no longer with us here, we are so very thankful that she was taken care of in such a wonderful and thoughtful way. If you are looking for care of your elderly family members, I can not recommend GL enough.

Great facility! Dad came during the ice storm under less- than-optimal conditions from his prior facility. Working with us on her day off, Jane went above and beyond to make our transition as smooth as possible. She helped make sure his medication was right and made sure the changes that needed to be made in order for him to be comfortable happened. This place is the real deal. They don’t just say they care about your loved one, they REALLY do care! It is obvious watching how dad responds to the caregivers, he likes them and is loved by them. If you are considering putting your loved one in a care facility, I would highly recommend Georgetown Living. They are amazing and I can’t say enough nice things about the care my dad receives here.

I had an interview with the Jane the senior director, everything seemed to be going great but when Icalling to check the status regarding my interview the Representative Jackie i believe is his name just takes “messages” so today I called and Jackie told me she comes in at a later time so he took my information but before anyone could call I did when she got to work so they made me wave another message so she calls me back and says if i’m still looking for a job to call back so i did . she got irritated i over heard her telling jackie to tell me “that was before... tell her that” then as i was trying to explain to jackie that this was unprofessional and rude he hung up in my face .. When all she could have said was she wasn’t interested. Don’t leave someone a voice message about a job and when they call it’s a problem i heard this was a family owned and operated business so hmm that’s probably why everyone is so rude and doesn’t care how they treat and talk to others but I told her to have a blessed day.

My mother has been at Georgetown Living for over a year. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. The staff definitely makes the difference. My mother has dementia and as a result can be rather mean but this staff is so wonderful, they just change the subject and the next thing you know, she’s thinking about something else. The staff also keeps me informed all the time. That especially important during these Covid times.

Questions & Answers

Do you accept Medicare and Medicaid?

Hello Marty- Great question. Medicare unfortunately does not cover assisted living stays. It will cover short-term stay in a skilled nursing facility but not an assisted living. Medicaid, in some very special instances, will cover assisted living but it is very rare to find a room where this is true. So, to answer your question we, and other assisted living facilities like ours, unfortunately will not be able to take Medicare or Medicaid.

I’m a recently retired RN. RN since 1978. Are there volunteer opportunities in your Alzheimer’s unit?
