A big, fairly clean station, Broadway -Lafayette houses the Orange line trains BDFM. Fairly easy to read signs point you in the right direction. Make sure you are going uptown or downtown. Currently the walls are being used for a David BowiE project. I expect more art "shows" in the future. Durring business hours, there is a booth with an MTA person to help.

No...the F train takes you to Broadway Lafayette... closest train to Houston & 2nd ave is the J or M...or B & D on Grand Street...hope it helps.
In my personal opinion the D Train, is one of the fastest in the city, it is express and it moves very well between stop and stop, if I have to go on its tracks it is always my best option.
