I have never ever ever seen or heard of worst customer service EVER. YOU ARE RUDE, non-caring, and brash. Each of the office employees should drop to their knees and think the good Lord you or your service isn’t based on your customer service. If a person wants water without a well, or spring they have to go through you, so lucky you, your without competition. Absolutely no reason to be so harsh and defined. Everyone I talk to say the same. If you hate your job as you seem to do, switch careers. Shame on the manager for allowing it!!!

Oh the joy it is to deal with this water company!! NOT!!!! HORRIBLE PEOPLE, HORRIBLE GUIDELINES! They seriously have no care about all those who are struggling, we had the money to pay our bill just no way to get there cause our car broke down after buying bad gas at another place of business in blountville Sunday night. OFCOURSE it got shut off! We were able to pay it Weds and now they are adding another fee to our bill making our water bill over 250 dollars.... Y'all have lost your minds! Y'all are a Money hungry company!!!!

Paid my bill on the 20th through my bank online. I came home on the 26th and found my water was off. Called them but was after hours and got the 'on-call' guy who could only tell me that I did not pay my bill. I called in the morning and was told "I just got the check in the mail this morning" It was 7AM so how could they have gotten their mail by then!!. Went on to tell me that it was dated the 20th but they just received it and would have to pay the fine. Very frustrating, but more so when I saw their policy stated online that they simply turn the water off without a warning. I can't believe in our community that a company responsible for a vital utility such as running water would simply turn it off without even a warning or courtesy call/email etc. Very very disappointed in this company. I would certainly go somewhere else if there was an option.

$50 fee is added at 5:30pm on the day that the bill is due. Didn't make it there before 5:30pm because I work 8-5 monday thru friday in Johnson city. My water was cut off the next morning before they even opened for business. Never been late on a payment before. Things just happen when you work 40+ hours a week... ridiculous.

How are water meters read monthly? Do they come out and read them?

Brenda Harvey | Oct 31, 2020

Automated meter systems are quickly becoming the standard for utilities around the country. Automated meter reading (AMR) is a technology used in utility meters for collecting the data that's needed for billing purposes. AMR, which works by translating the movement of the mechanical dials (RTR) on a meter into a digital signal, does not require physical access or visual inspection. In 2007 Blountville Utility District went with this drive-by meter reading technology. This Drive-by technology minimizes the need to physically manually read the meter. What once took 6 employees 8-10 business days to read all 6,000 customers now only takes 1 employee about a day an half. The Utility generally reads on the 15th of each month. The Utility’s Policy is to print the bills out the last working day of each month, and hand delivers them to the Post Office for mailing by 12pm. PLEASE NOTE that the Utility is not responsible for mail delivery. We hope this was helpful in answering your question.

When you all increase water pressure in my neighborhood and it busted waterlines why were we charged for the water that leaked if you all sent the pressure thru that caused the lines to bust is it not your responsiby for the damages and leaks?

Blountville Utility District is responsible for maintaining and replacing water mains throughout its service area, while property owners are responsible for their service line, and internal plumbing equipment such as pressure reducing valves (PRV) and cut-offs. Inside your home, a pressure reducing valve (PRV) modulates water pressure to safeguard your external, and internal plumbing. Fitted to the water supply main after the water meter, the (PRV) constricts incoming water so that even if the supply pressure fluctuates, you only feel a constant flow of water at a functional pressure. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the (PRV) is in proper working order. Please feel free to contact our office at (423) 323-2189 with any follow up questions and ask to speak with the General Manager. we hope this was helpful in answering your question.
