Met with Casey Mullooly to discuss my financial plan and help set up my 401k and I could not have had a better experience. Casey did a fantastic job of thoroughly explaining to me what my options were, hearing out and addressing my questions, and made me feel included about the decisions we were making as a team. Casey came overly prepared to our meeting which set us up for constructive dialogue and had me feeling secure and confident in my plan once the meeting concluded. I will be reaching out with any financial help I need going forward and would recommend to anyone looking for the same.

I met Tom Mullooly just before the 2008-2009 financial crisis. Years before, I’d had poor experiences with past financial advisors because it was too easy for them to make money through their commissions, and they seemed to be doing better than my account value was. By the time I met Tom, I had been handling my 401k on my own for many years. Through networking I was fortunate to get to know Tom as a person for almost a year before signing with him, and I was impressed by his sincerity and his more personal vs. big corporate brokerage approach to investment management. His fee structure was exactly the answer to my previous concerns with advisors. Fortunately for me, as I got to know Tom better I signed up with Mullooly Asset Management just prior to that 2008-2009 crisis, and I have always been glad I did because Tom literally saved my account from disaster. For me, Mullooly Asset Management has always been a great comfort for the financial security I have felt over my years with them. They reach out to me periodically without being annoying, and they make sure I keep them updated with my own financial situation as needed. Tom’s family business makes me comfortable because each advisor is on the same page as the others. They are all easy to work with and will take pains to explain something until I’m comfortable. Since signing years ago I sleep better at night not worrying about my account day to day. Without question, signing with Mullooly Asset Management has been the wisest financial decision I ever made.

Questions & Answers

How do we get started with your firm?

Stewart Cain | Apr 4, 2022
Randal Andrews | Apr 4, 2022

First step in the process is a "Fit Meeting." This is strictly an introductory meeting. Bring no documentation. Ask all the questions you want, no decisions are made. We typically follow up 24-48 hours afterwards. If both parties agree it is a good match (a "fit"), then we proceed to next steps.

How does you financial planning process work?

Rudolf Johnson | Apr 4, 2022
Nicole Vour | Apr 4, 2022

Once we both mutually agree to work together, the planning process begins. We first listen to the client, to gain a true understanding of their needs and goals. Then we gather the appropriate information in order to truly grasp the client's situation. We begin building their personalized cash flow and balance sheet. At that point in the process, we want to present this information and further discuss next steps, inclusing any possible changes to asset allocation or investments. We monitor the progress toward the goals and review with the client, on an agreed-upon periodic basis.

What is the difference between an investment advisor and a wealth manager?

Kip Apsley | May 4, 2022
Mullooly Asset Management | Aug 2, 2022

The investment industry uses terms interchangeably. A wealth manager is often another term for a stock broker. These professionals are often compensated based on the transactions they perform in client accounts, which leads to conflicts of interest. We are fee-only investment advisors and fiduciaries. Which means we always do what is in our client's best interest and are only paid by our clients.

What is the difference between wealth management and asset management?

Megan Brown | Mar 5, 2022
Mullooly Asset Management | Mar 5, 2022

Hi Megan and thanks for your question! Asset Management centers around how your portfolio is allocated among different investments. In other words, how your money is invested. Wealth management takes a broader view. For example, how does your income look as you approach retirement? Or, how do we pay for college? Wealth management also looks at how to save more, and reduce debt. Another area for wealth management addresses insurance needs - do we have enough life insurance? What if someone becomes disabled, will we be OK? Wealth management includes asset management and helps paint the picture why investments are made, and how they fit in the overall picture. Great question, Megan. Thank you for asking!
