Don't skip past this museum. Nice collection of items and it really fits in with the local train ride. And right across the street is a nice antique shop with a very nice owner. Ask him about the figures made out of coal.

The McCreary County Museum is a small museum based in an old lumber and coal mining office. Lots of items of local interest, including a small display of Cornblossom, a local legend. It's not the Smithsonian, but for a small intrance fee it is worth stopping in if you are in the area.

Questions & Answers

Does the train go around and back to the train station or does it go forward and then backs up? Does the train turn around? My last train ride I went on was in Versailles, Ky. It only went forward and then backed up. The right side had the view.

It backed up. They asked for everyone to switch sides on the way back so everyone can see the view.
