The great Jewish Synagogue in Philadelphia is still in operation, the rabbi welcomed us and told us the history of the place, we were excited to visit the building is very modest and is maintained in a great way, there are also toilets

Really cool shul with a lot of historical background. Some of the stuff there are 4000 years old!

Came without an appointment and was so kindly welcomed to visit after asking and was shown the special items of their collection by both the kind Secretary who then called the Rabbi. He kindly took me around pointing out the amazing history, items and places of importance in the shul. Then was honored to meet the elder Rabbi Gabbai who was so welcoming and kind. A visit that will remain with me for all my days! The hospitality and warmth was absolutely amazing and Abraham could not have treated a ‘strange visitor’ with more warmth.

No, it's just a name, in the sense of "hope of yisrael." As far as I know there is no mikve in downtown Philadelphia, the topic has been talked about for years
You will enjoy visiting the shul. They actually have a letter (copy) from George Washington that he sent to the shul on display. The Rabbi is there often and he will be more than happy to speak with you about the origin of the shul.
Do they do Mikveh?
