Fishing is ok from the bank, much better from a boat. Lots of smaller fish. Probably haven't found the right pattern for the bigger ones.

If you love fishing and have a John boat or kayak or even a paddle board great place the water is beautiful and so much aquatic life! Great place to paddle board several ponds channel into the main lake! Keep an eye on times a lot of fishing clubs go out early so be prepared..nice hidden secret… very quiet there’s one main little boat ramp nothing fancy limited parking however use your map for guidance there are little spots around the smaller ponds ..

You need a license but if you fish without one you there is a slim chance you'll get caught I've fished here many times and I don't think everyone has a license

Piney Hollow is just for archery. They closed the shooting range last year or so. You can still shoot at Makepeace Lake though. As far as using an air rifle at DOD...you just need to have your Firearm ID with you. Just pick a spot with a safe backstop.
