There are king snakes and corn but they do get large. The pythons are typically more docile than the other two. King snakes will jump and strike but pythons can grow big enough to eat rabbits so you have to think about that.

I like the furminator bc it will open the pores the help release the undercoat but the key is the conditioner which closes the pores back up and the brushing. Petsmart uses a velocity dryer to force out that undercoat with the furminator shampoo and conditioner and then brushing.
