Incredible comprehensive exhibits spanning the complete cultural history. Thoroughly enjoyed talking with the historian with his valuable insights on a wide variety of topics. There’s also a thoughtful, diverse plethora of books, including local historians available for sale. Lovely presentation of a quaint hand hewn cabin adjoining the museum. A Must See!!!

A wonderful look at life in Western NC over the centuries. Amazing collection of artifacts, neatly arranged and preserved, and friendly folks to answer your questions. And the fee is whatever you feel like giving. Very unique and interesting.

What a wonderful place to learn about part our history! There were many personal items that showed how people lived, work they did, how their medical problems & their crime was handled. There were many many note books to look through to get info on people and history of Macon County. It was just fascinating to look through this museum!
