He took so much time with explaining the different types of phones, and sales option plans. Answered all my questions and I was able to get a top quality phone that I was not even planning to purchase. Due to his sale expertise and patience I also signed up for Verizon home internet service. He was so kind, friendly and respectful. Best customer service of all time and I wanted to let upper management know this. He truly deserves to be acknowledged. Thank You

It could be a variety of different problems, anywhere from the device itself to the sim card. If you are not too far away from a 'real'verizon store, I'd recommend going in to see a representative in person over calling customer service. But make sure it's actually a Verizon location instead of a 3rd party Verizon satellite store, and also have the phone and 50.00 card with you to make it easier
You can, but if you're shopping for new prepaid or post pay service, I would recommend checking more than just the 4 main names everyone knows. There are a lot of quality services available much cheaper. Not all numbers are available to switch, but most are. You should be able to check your number on their website.
