Hey I’m Zyniha Davis , I stayed here on trans 2 . I basically did what I wanted and I was there for 1year and 2 months ,I left almost a month ago bc of me turning 18 and I had a good and bad EXPERIENCE, I almost took other residents medicine bc of the unqualified nurses and when other residents would listen to me and not the staff the supervisor and the RM would say I was the problem they treating me as an adult but when I did adult things I was a child trying to be grown … they wanted the trans 2 girls to act older but wasn’t consistent with nothing there was mold in our showers and the residential manager Curtis Barnes FORCED me to sleep on the short hall for 2 months and I would complain bc there would be ALOT of roaches and bugs in my room I told MULTIPLE DIFFERENT PEOPLE no one did anything . Then a girl almost killed herself and no higher ups was there we only had two stay and ones leg was messed up from another resident !! There food had hair in it and they made us eat it or we had to throw it away and starve. They would move good and qualified staff and purposely hurt the residents . They also cared more about a relationship at new hope then the fights and I was also stabbed 6times and all they did was gave a me a shot and took pictures . There was no real help unless it came from the the staffs that really did care about me. I feel sick to my stomach knowing that SO MANY staff would argue with you and almost fight you bc the residents don’t wanna listen . This place is worst if your not smart and willing to stay focused the only thing there that is decent is the school . NOW that I’ve been gone almost a month the staff are being fired for helping me or moved to a different unit and then they moving in UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE with kids who have a problem and they need help and not loud mouth ,uneducated, rude , ready to restrain any resident , don’t gaf type of people and then some of the new staff come to new hope for staff that got fired so they can do or say something to another resident .just sickkkkk how parents and social workers and grandparents ,siblings can honestly send there loved one here . 🫶🏾

We were able to work with New Hope on a rebranding project and WOW the passion that this new team and staff have for teaching and pouring into these kids is honorable. I know that the best is yet to come for New Hope! Looking forward to see how it all unfolds.

First let me start by saying 🗣you must a good heart when working with the residents! Yes they have some issues but hey we all do in our own way! I enjoy my job and I love my boys! I leave work every day like “thank god I made it” lol but I wouldn’t trade it for the world! These parents leave they’re child in our hands and as long as we got a good team we can and DO make a huge impact in there lives! We do the best that we can do with them and for them! I love it here, I’m never quitting 🥰
