This is a great hotel, with a nice hot breakfast!! I had an unfortunate random incident where my vehicle was damaged but Chris O at the bar went out of his way to help, actually got packing tape from his personal vehicle to seal my window. And not just him, all of the staff have been very friendly and extra helpful during our stay. Comfy beds. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for two days and were suppose to stay at another hotel closer to where our family lives. Needless to say we checked out and checked right back in to this hotel, staying four nights. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable with fresh linens and extra towels. The children were happy on the pull out couch/ day bed and had fun in the indoor pool. We all had such a great night sleep with the down comforter and pillows. The showers were refreshing with great water pressure and full bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There is always fresh coffee and tea, cereal, breakfast bars, and oatmeal. They also serve a hot breakfast till 10. We look forward to staying here again and will not stay anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff who made this trip enjoyable and a special thank you to Lu who is so super wonderful, hard working, accommodating, and sweet, making our stay feel like home away from home.

We recently had a night stay at this Roanoke SpringHill Suites. First, I had something come up and needed to call the manager prior to my stay. He was very courteous and responsive to my situation, and I am so appreciative of that. Second, this is one of the few times that I've ever stayed at a hotel and the room was nicer then what was depicted on the website. We stayed in the 2 queen suite and I was so pleased with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room. It appeared recently updated and modern. The breakfast the next day was fresh and great. All the staff was super friendly. I can't say enough good things about this hotel!

The location is hospital zone, no other businesses nearby, yet anyway. The hotel has a cute lobby bar that was open Friday night but not Saturday or Sunday. The small outdoor area was closed still even though it's Spring. Kids were having fun at the indoor pool. Staff are friendly and helpful, that's great. Some smoke in the parking garage which you'd think would be bothersome but it is stinky. The entrance is beyond stupid, for new construction the architecture firm screwed this one up! Marriott is a good chain but considering they want each hotel to have it's own vibe. This property had a lobby full of people on a Saturday night with no open bar. Just wine or beer you self serve and charge to your room. The vibe was clearly people wondering why they didn't receive what Marriott promises in it's promotional material.

Yes to both.
There is a government rate, however the closer to DC you get the higher the mil/gov rate. I have found in some cases that the mil rate is actually higher than the regular rate so I would actually check before you commit to anything.
