why does the phone number not work

Toured the place and it seemed like a very nice place. My husband and I had been to that area many times and looked at reviews, no red flags, and the few other tenants in passing seemed nice. However, less than 2 weeks into the lease there was a shooting right outside our building, the officers informed us they were called there for a similiar situation a few months prior. A few days later, more gunshots nearby, then again about a week after that. This became a safety concern for us. After reaching out to the office about the incident, no ever responded and we had to go into the office just to be told they could not talk about it while under investigation. This was understandable, but don't ignore a message, just say you can't discuss it. Again, no reviews gave red flags about similiar incidents, and we never had an issue when visiting that area before on many occasions. Not only that, but we were told the wrong amount for our prorated rent upon move-in, never told there that the pet fee was prorated move in, were told the wrong amount for the regulary monthly pet fee, so we over paid for pet rent, then under paid rent because we were given incorrect amounts. No one ever told us until I noticed on the portal and reached out. I even had the email showing the amounts we were given. They need to get their information correct and communicate better with tenants.
