Can we discuss the possibility of a name change for this area. It’s not exactly tourist friendly

I needed the city to come out and shut my water off due to the main shut off valve failing. I called, and the Water Dept worker was to my home in less than 10 minuets! Talk about swift service! My plumber replaced the valve, and all was well again. Called the city again to have the water turned back on, and once again, the Water Dept worker was back within 10 minutes. I went out and yalked with the guy, and he couldnt have been more curtious. What a genuinely nice guy. I was very impressed. We pay quite a bit for our water bill, so thanks for showing me my money is well spent Coon Rapids!

The streets sweepers are out & need to fill up periodically from a nearby hydrant which stirs up the iron sediment. The water should run clear soon.

Why is the water orange

Hi, Every spring, City utility crews begin flushing half of the fire hydrants in the city. The process is part of a routine maintenance program necessary to maintain our water system and remove sediment from the lines. This allows us to continue to deliver the highest quality water possible to residents. If crews are working in your neighborhood, you may experience some water discoloration, but this does not affect the safety of the water. It’s best to avoid doing laundry until the discoloration has disappeared. You may read more about the hydrant flushing process here: https://www.coonrapidsmn.gov/343/Hydrant-Flushing
