Great place to stop and rest up! We were out on a four day motorcycle trip and stopped here one morning to warm up (it was a chilly morning) and grab some coffee. Beautiful place. Well stocked with all kinds of merch and beverages and snacks. Comfy couches. Nice staff. I look forward to stopping in again when they have food trucks... seems like a great lunch stop option.

This is a smooth, sweeping high-quality road for bikers. I think it's going to become one of our favorites! The restaurant of the same name is great. Order a custom coffee and sit for a spell

Bob, Rt. 16 Aka Back of the Dragon is a state road. You can not ride a side by side on that particular road, but there are many great trails that you can including Spearhead Trails located in Pocahontas, VA. Hope this helps.
Hi there I think some time this month.. Not sure look it up at backof dragon.com For more info
We stayed in the Econolodge in Marion. Clean comfortable room, welcoming to bikers
there is a little pit stop in Tazwell with maps and general information on the "Back of the Dragon ". they also sell t shirts and decals.
Cavitts creek park has done a lot of upgrades and it's a nice place to camp and only a few minutes from town
Foxtail Orchards in Tazewell. Right on the BOTD Hwy 16. Cabins that are peaceful and roomy.
The way the temps have been here lately id say I'd guess around the 2nd week in October
I started in Tazewell. There are signs to the Back of The Dragon pub and tourist attraction. Those folks are very helpful explaining the route. But basically it is hwy 16 between Tazewell and Marion.
Contact hungry mother state park on the southern end of the dragon and cavitts creek campground on the north end of the dragon also there are a couple of small cabins rented out in the Thompson valley portion of the trail. Not sure who reserves them but contact the back of the dragon welcome center and they will give you the cabin info.
YOU'LL BE LUCKY TO PASS 5 CARS IN THE 32 MILES.
I started in Marion and rode to Tazwell. Great ride. And the Dragon shop is in Tazwell. Either way would be great. Its all up and down either way.
