I first went to another company that offered a two-day on-site estate sale, wanted $3,000 up front for the clean-out and everything else that they were going to put in and they took the usual 35% commission on top of that. Later I found Artifacts Liquidators - they asked for nothing down, I was told I will just have to pay for the clean-out and for that they have a company that gives you an estimate, which typically starts at $1,200 (mine ended up costing $1,800 but the broker told me that for a 3bed-2bath house full of stuff this is a reasonable amount). What I appreciated so much about Artifacts Liquidators is that they have over 20 years of experience and a large following - I cannot imagine that anybody else has a larger following, especially with the online auction, and they gave me the option to do a one day sale and for the second day substitute an online auction. I believed Jane's advice and went with this hybrid approach. It worked out really well: I was surprised by the amount of people who bought stuff, by the stuff they actually bought, by the amount of money Jane and Lisa and their team had made both online and on-site. It was such a pleasure to do business together and it was all-in-all pleasant and down to earth. Don't expect too many formalities from this business. At the end I got a nice record of everything, including receipts and a summary report of the sales. Originally I thought I will be there for one more year and try to sell the items online, but there is no way I could have beat the performance of Artifacts Liquidators with all their followers! People were lining out the door on the day of the on-site sale one hour before the early morning start. And the online auction had 60 items in it, I believe all of them (definitely almost all) sold and I was happy with the sale prices sometimes even positively surprised. You can tell this company has been at it for decades. Thanks so much Artifacts Liquidators!

With Janes highly skilled experience acquired from Sotheby's, a lifetime of knowledge, deep contacts and a stellar reputation she brought my families heirlooms to market not only in a timely manner but maximized our profits. Jane is also Trustworthy with a capital T. My dad who had suffered a stroke, had lost his vintage Rolex, a watch he's had for 60 plus years. He thought it could be in the garden but didn't know where it was. Jane found it and returned it.
