I put a post with zero stars because the LaGrange office Leonard Harris. He was the most arrogant man without any compassion that I have ever met. Our son died and this has been the absolute worst time in our lives. No person should have to bury a child. He served his country in Iraq. What Leonard Harris of the LaGrange Ga office said about my son was absolutely disrespectful and uncalled for! I left numerous voicemails with no return calls. I sent emails with no response. After our first meeting I brought my husband. A VA rep conferenced us in with him and after the call ended she called us an apologized for how we were treated. He was arrogant and disrespectful. I honestly felt I was discriminated against for some reason. He all but called us a liar. He was the one not telling the truth. The VA social worker will that was on conference call will confirm. I have all the emails and calls to back up what I am saying. He had a wrong date for an appointment and left a very nasty voicemail which I still have. He asked my husband if he was the father and he said yes. He then asked 2 more times. I finally said yes he is! He is the only father he knew and he raised him from 3 years old. How at disrespectful! He spoke over us. He would not give a chance to speak. We have never been treated like this before and I certainly hope never again. As we were leaving our last appointment he said in the most sarcastic tone “ Have a blessed day”. I’m sure the person in the next office heard everything and I hope that they will be honest about how we were treated. Shame on him. Something needs to be done about this man. I bet I’m not the first person he has treated this way. Amber Haire was a very kind respectful compassionate person. We tried to get her to handle but Leonard Harris would not let her. I understand why a security officer in the building told me to call Mrs Haire that she was the person I should call. I understand why now! I don’t know if we received the correct information or if he filled out the correct forms. I certainly hope his supervisor will call me. We are so upset and would like to make a formal complaint about Leonard Harris. Something needs to be done. You don’t treat anyone let alone grieving individuals in this manner. Stay away from the VFSO on Fort McPherson. The personnel are unprofessional, will hang up on you, and laugh the whole time they deny the help our taxpayer dollars pay them to do.
